Brewers Quay Wins Top Award

Brewers Quay has won Best Visitor Attraction Gift Retailer at the Greats Gift Retail Awards 2007.

The Greats Gift Retail Awards were launched 5 years ago and are now recognized as the Oscars of gift retailing. This year there were more than 1,000 entries competing in 24 categories, including 6 regional sections, awards for multiples and department stores, niche retailers, newcomers and employee of the year.

Entries ranged from thousands of independents on the high street to mini chains, national multiples, garden centres and other specialist retailers. Brewers Quay won its category beating competition as far afield as Buckfast Abbey in Devon, Hebdon Bridge in Yorkshire and Bowness in Windermere.

Brewers Quay's category was open to all museums, heritage outlets and visitor attractions on single or multiple sites. The judging included canvassing suppliers in the gift industry, visiting the sites incognito, and assessing the formal application.

This is a tremendous achievement for all the staff but in particular, the buying and operations team who have built up a considerable respect within the industry.
